Testing Site Lead for Beck’s Hybrids

What you would be doing:

  • Coordinate plot locations and logistics with plot cooperators
  • Ensure plots are of the desired characteristics
  • Ensure plots are measured and flagged accurately
  • Planting of mini-strip and replicated plots
  • Ensuring plots are planted as directed by the Regional Operations Manager
  • Data Collection
  • Plot maintenance

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an agricultural related field such as: agronomy, plant breeding, seed science, seed technology, plant genetics, crop science, plant physiology
  • 5-7+ years field research experience. Strong knowledge of the corn or soybean breeding research process is desirable.
  • Class A CDL – preferred, but can be obtained upon hire
  • Pesticide applicator license
  • Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.

Agronomist – Lab Manager for Logan Labs

Farm Operator for D&J Farms Inc. (Buczek Ag, LLC.)

A little about the business: D&J Farms Inc. What you would be doing:

  • Operate farm equipment such as sprayers, combines, pickers, planters, semis, tillage.
  • Work with GPS and precision ag technology.
  • Perform light maintenance on equipment such as replacing belts, changing bearings, oil changes, etc.
  • Assist with crop irrigation.
  • Delivering grain to local and regional elevators/terminals.
  • Assist in other areas of the farm as needed such as grain handling, crop scouting, heavy equipment and facility maintenance.

Qualifications: 

  • Have prior experience operating farm and or other heavy equipment; production agriculture is preferred.
  • Enjoy working out outdoors and are comfortable with the longer hours required during the peak seasons.
  • Are known for being a hard worker, having great communication skills, and great flexibility.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Sow Farm Manager for Johnson-Pate Pork

What you would be doing:

  • Ensure that the capacity of existing facilities are fully utilized and assist in planning future expansions  
  • Oversee internal gilt development and manage gilt inventory
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and employee feedback sessions
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and team building

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience in sow farm management; experience with open pen gestation and electronic sow feeders (ESFs) is preferred, but not required
  • Proven management ability to lead teams and develop working relationships within all levels of the organization
  • A continuous-improvement mindset that seeks to innovate and improve production practices
  • The ability to analyze production data, understand what the numbers are saying, and make real-time adjustments accordingly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, agriculture, agri-business or relatable degree
  • Ability to develop & participate in weekend work rotation.

  • Maintains cleanliness of the customer’s equipment.
  • Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain clear customer records.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent experience in servicing agricultural equipment, farming equipment, heavy equipment, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak seasons including an on-call rotation.
  • Ability to work independently, are a dedicated self-starter and drive position productivity without the need for direct, constant supervision.
