A little about the business: Edmondson Liberty Farms is a large family-owned grain operation producing corn and soybeans. Both crops are stored on farm and sold to processors and rail elevator locations. Located just 30 minutes west of Indianapolis in Clayton, Indiana, they take pride in our farm land, our crops, and our machinery. They are looking for a full-time, year-round Farm Operator to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Farm Operator, you will run equipment in the field, work at their grain facilities, and assist with equipment maintenance. Some of your responsibilities would include operating farm equipment, assisting in crop scouting, assisting with loading and unloading grain, and assisting in operation logistics.
Qualifications: Prior agriculture experience must be comfortable operating heavy equipment, a basic mechanical ability, and a good communication skills.
A little about the business: West Michigan Bean Co. has processed light red kidney beans in Sheridan, MI for over 30 years. They process over 60,000 cwt of edible beans each year. West Michigan Bean is owned by a group of growers that have come together to provide their customers with high-quality edible beans. They are looking for a General Manager/Processing Site Manager to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Site Manager, you would individually run the processing facility located in Sheridan, MI. You would be solely handling every aspect of the plant from ensuring quality, sourcing other edible bean varieties, food safety, performing maintenance to purchasing equipment and supplies.
Qualifications: Experience in agriculture, farming, and/or food processing, mechanically inclined, and the ability to work independently.
A little about the business: Nourse Farms is a leader in the production, preparation, growth and sale of premium quality small fruit plant stock. They also pick, grow, harvest and market wholesale and retail fruit. Their number one objective is to present the best quality product for sale to our customers. Located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, they farm on over 800 acres of prime river bottom land in the towns of Hatfield, Whately, Deerfield, Montague and Northfield. They are looking for a Chief Operating Officer to be based in Deerfield, MA.
What you would be doing: As the COO, you would work closely with the owner to lead operations by maximizing customer resources, focusing on efficiency, defining their growth plans and being a leader in variety development. You would be leading the CFO, Director of Sales, General Manager, Director of HR, Directors of Production including the Nursery/Farm operations, Lab, Greenhouse and Packing/Storage/Shipping operations.
Qualifications: Degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant pathology, crop and soil sciences, and/or agribusiness or related business management field, minimum of ten years of management within an agriculture, fresh produce, nursery, or horticulture industry, and a solid understanding of financial principles.
A little about the business: Landmark is a progressive 25 location agriculture cooperative that prides itself on being cutting-edge. They adapt quickly to the demands of the market and develop programs that are tailored to their customers’ needs. They are looking for an experienced Agronomy Account Manager to join their team in Durand, IL.
What you would be doing: As the Agronomy Account Manager, you would focus on outside agronomy sales direct to their growers within a 40 miles radius of the location. You would report to the Area Sales Lead and maintain positive relationships with growers that result in sales of fertilizers, chemicals and seeds to enhance their member’s business. Some of your responsibilities would include recommending fertilizers, chemicals, and seed, analyzing soil, developing plans for pest infestations and other crop problems, and communicating with producers on crop development.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in soil science, agronomy, ag business, or equivalent experience, 3-5 years agronomy sales experience and Integrated Pest Management techniques, CCA or willing to obtain, and a valid driver’s license.
A little about the business: Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the Life Science fields of health care and agriculture. Its products and services are designed to benefit people and improve their quality of life. Their Bayer Crop Science division is looking for a National Marketing Manager to join their team in California.
What you would be doing: As the National Marketing Manager, you would focus on the marketing of fruit and vegetable seeds through two channels, direct to their growers and to their distribution network. You will be based out of Acampo, California and will travel 40-50% domestically with 1-2 trips to Netherlands each year. Some of your responsibilities would include supporting the development of medium term marketing strategy and plan, supporting and aligning with the national sales manager, and driving customer and partner segmentation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with a preference in marketing or related field, MBA preferred, at least 5 years’ of related experience in business-to-business or business to consumer marketing, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to analyze data and trends.
