A little about the farm: Meyer Farms is a large, family-owned, diversified operation farming corn, soybeans, sugar beets, and wheat located in Fairmount, North Dakota. They are looking for a full time Farm Operator to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Farm Operator, you would operate equipment and perform light repair/maintenance. Some of your responsibilities would include assisting with loading/unloading grain, hauling grain for local delivery, and assisting in all areas of the operations depending on the needs for the season.
Qualifications: Prior agriculture/farming experience, comfortable operating heavy equipment, prior experience with GPS & precision ag equipment or are comfortable with technology and willing to learn, and have a basic mechanical ability and understanding.
A little about the business: Howlett Farms is a 5th generation, family-owned and operated commodity trading and merchandising company. They connect grain supply from local farmers to the demand of end-users worldwide. They are looking for a Logistics Assistant to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Logistics Assistant, you would directly support the Freight Director. Some of your responsibilities would include aiding in the management of day-to-day logistics activities, identifying and executing freight efficiency strategies, and increasing effectiveness of the existing dispatch system.
Qualifications: Must be proficient in technology systems, willing to learn industry specific software programs, must be a creative thinker, and must have strong communication skills.
A little about the farm: Lennard Ag Company is a family-owned, three-generation deep farm operation that’s been producing and delivering quality vegetables and grain crop since 1947. They specialize in potatoes, tomatoes, seed corn, and commercial corn, growing over 9,700 acres. They are looking for Maintenance Manager to join their team in Howe, Indiana.
What you would be doing: As the Maintenance Manager, you would provide repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in buildings, grounds, and utility systems. Some of your responsibilities would include ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, locating sources of problems, removing defective parts, and determining changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
Qualifications: 4 year mechanical or electrical engineering degree, prefer two years of related experience in high speed production manufacturing plant with exposure and understand of environmental issues but will consider a college graduate, solid understanding of electriciting and food production, and HVAC experience.
A little about the business: Landmark is a progressive 25 location agriculture cooperative that prides itself on being cutting-edge. They adapt quickly to the demands of the market and develop programs that are tailored to their customers’ needs. They are looking for an experienced Agronomy Account Manager to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Agronomy Account Manager, you would focus on outside agronomy sales direct to their growers with a 40 miles radius of the location. Some of your responsibilities would include recommending fertilizers, chemicals, and seed that will result in the greatest yield and profitability, writing up orders for product, analyzing soil through sampling and observation, developing plans for pest infestations or other crop problems, and communicating with Operations Manager and Applicators.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in soil science, agronomy, ag business, or equivalent experience, three to five years of Agronomy Sales experience and Integrated Pest Management techniques, Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) or willing to obtain, and a valid driver’s license.
A little about the farm: Lamont Fruit Farm is a vertically integrated farming operation producing over 25 varieties of apples with a focus on innovation and efficiency. They are seeking an Office Manager to join their team in their Waterport, New York location.
What you would be doing: As the Office Manager, you would manage the financial and crop data, personnel programs, and communications. Some of your responsibilities would include overseeing accounting functions, payroll functions, personnel files and HR compliance, administering the H2A program, generating reports for owners, and developing and maintaining production records.
Qualifications: One to four-year degree, designation, or certificate in accounting, business management, finance, or related field, a minimum of two years’ experience in a small to medium business managing the financials, strong skills in time management, and strong MS Office Suite and Center Point software skills preferred.
