Farm Equipment Operator – Sprayer Applicator for S & C Woollen Farms

A little about the business: Welcome to S & C Woollen Farms!  We’re a family owned, and operated farm located in Mid-Southern Nebraska. We grow corn, soybean and wheat on 3,800 acres of mostly irrigated ground.  We have a laid-back culture but passionate and driven team when it’s time to get the job done.

What you would be doing: 

  • Operating farm equipment such as sprayer, planter, semi for hauling grain, and center pivot irrigation.
  • Complete applicator logs and reports on schedule.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the sprayer and ensure nozzles, hoses, etc. are working properly.
  • Perform light equipment maintenance and repair on large tractors, combines, trucks, etc.
  • Assist in all areas of the farm as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in agriculture/farming operating heavy equipment; commercial and/or private sprayer applicator experience preferred.
  • Experience as an agronomist or crop consultant would be beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently along with strong moral values, ambition, great work ethic, great attitude and are reliable.
  • Ability to work extended hours during the busy season.

  • Must meet minimum age requirement by state
  • 3 plus months of experience operating a tractor trailer combination, manual & automatic.

  • HAZMAT, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements
  • Valid Class A CDL

What you would be doing:

  • Help with unloading of grain products for company owned and customer owned trucks.
  • Assists in delivery of agronomy products such as fertilizer, chemical and seed to customers.
  • Assists in the loading of agronomy products to customer trucks.
  • Assists in the receiving of dry/liquid fertilizer, chemicals and seed.
  • Provide assistance in the operations of the liquid and dry plant. 
  • Provide assistance in the scheduling, mixing and loading of liquid/dry fertilizer and chemicals.
  • Helps in ensuring the accuracy of mixing chemicals and fertilizers and assists with blender operations.
  • Drives company owned trucks for the purpose of transferring grain.
  • Drives tender trucks to supply Central Valley Ag custom application equipment.
  • If certified, serves as back-up for custom applicators.

Qualifications: 

  • General mechanical ability required.
  • Integrity and good judgment skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Must be a quick learner and have the ability to multi-task.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • One to three months’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsement.

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday and every other weekend
