Assistant Farm Production Manager for Alstede Farms

A little about the business: Welcome to Alstede Farms! We are first generation family farm producing a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers on 600 acres. We grow local produce for our CSA, farm markets, Pick Your Own and our fully stocked farm store. We are dedicated to providing high-quality homegrown local fruits and vegetables and memorable farm experiences. What you would be doing: 

  • Manage efficient farm operations while maximizing labor and equipment resources
  • Manage and oversee daily irrigation operations, including repairs, movement and installation
  • Manage cider mill operations ensuring Food Safety, mill cleanliness, quality control and bottling of 1500+ gallons/week.
  • Lead packing house operations to ensure proper inventories of incoming and outgoing produce, working closely with the Farm Operations Manager, Retail Operations Manager, CSA and Tailgate Chiefs
  • Assist with educational farm tours, camps and other events as a guide 
  • Manage farm production records of all spray, pesticide, application, planting, care, production, and harvesting records

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, crop and soil sciences or related field or have equivalent experience
  • Bring more than 5+ years of farming experience fruit and/or vegetable farming experience along with mechanical ability
  • Willingness to work extended hours, up to 6 days a week (60+ hours) during peak seasons
  • Willingness to obtain NJ Pesticide Applicator’s License
  • CDL preferred, but not required
  • Computer literacy

Qualifications: 

  • Have strong knowledge in sales and store operations ideally in either agriculture, construction, lawn & garden equipment or heavy equipment
  • Are a strong communicator that enforces and monitors effective processes to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Have experience in project management, vendor management and working closely with cross-functional teams/projects

Regional Agronomy Sales Manager for Stine Seed Company

What you would be doing: 

  • Learn and understand day-to-day needs and issues of assigned ISRs through regular communication and by spending a minimum of 3 days a month in the territory with the ISR.  
  • Develop and maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Stine seed products and services applicable to the assigned territory 
  • Assist ISRs in the development and management of key prospect lists, new dealers, direct grower recruitment, and monitor their progress toward stated goals.  
  • Organize and lead regional meetings  
  • Assist with development, design, planting and harvest of Yield in the Field (YIF) plots.
  • Understand and implement marketing initiatives while driving key products and services in key target markets   
  • Communicate and implement Stine’s sales programs and policies within the assigned territory in order to meet sales goals for the district 

Qualifications: 

  • Three or more years of sales experience in agronomy, crop health and/or seed  
  • Prior success leading a sales team   
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proven sales techniques and an ability to coach  
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work with multiple team members to meet established goals

  • Follow detailed daily and weekly maintenance schedule

  • General facilities and building maintenance such as lighting, fans, overhead doors, and general house maintenance for employee housing

Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in an industrial or facilities maintenance role
  • Experience working independently and completing tasks without supervision
  • A detail-oriented mindset and can successfully handle working on multiple issues at once
  • A positive, driven attitude and are capable of setting priorities
  • The ability to function successfully as a team member and take direction well
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, and negotiating, influencing, and consultative selling skills.
  • Registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) is required
