What you would be doing: 

  • Investigates health challenges
  • Provide all regulatory documentation
  • Review and approve animal health and care SOPs
  • Issue veterinarian feed directives
  • Review and interpret diagnostic lab reports
  • Budget and forecast medications, vaccinations, animal welfare and veterinarian services quarterly

Qualifications:

  • You have a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent with the ability to attain veterinary licenses in the states of business.
  • You have the ability to: set, pursue and attain achievable goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstance.
  • You have the ability to: analyze all aspects of a situation to gain thorough insight to make decisions; identify and evaluate resources; apply problem solving abilities; be objective and fairly evaluate the different aspects of a situation.
  • You are able to establish a process for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures or outcomes.
  • You are available for overnight travel 1 week a month.
  • You have skills to maneuver and utilize the functions of Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • You are multi-task oriented and a team player.

  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed for safety, DOT compliance, FDA, etc.
  • Manage inventory control of all ingredients, vitamins and minerals.
  • Manage all preventative maintenance and repairs; work with vendors as needed.
  • Attain a thorough understanding of all automation & mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes.

What you would be doing: 

  • Troubleshoot and solve basic mechanical & electrical problems (Including but not limited to repairs to Electronic Sow Feeding Stations, plumbing systems, ventilation system, and heating lamps)
  • Maintain farm lanes (filling pot hole, grading with rear blade)
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE
  • Document any future equipment or building concerns that might need future capital expenditures
  • Help farm with keeping the correct equipment on hand for emergency repairs along with helping in ordering the correct equipment
  • Maintain tractor, brush hog, riding mower, bucket & rear blade

Qualifications: 

  • You have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years, or more, of maintenance experience.
  • You have experience training and/or leading maintenance teams
  • You have strong project management skills
  • You are multi-task oriented and a team player
  • You possess a valid driver’s license
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills
  • You can lift at least 50 lbs and push at least 100 lbs
  • You have exposure to agriculture environment.
  • You are able to work in inclement weather conditions
  • You are available to work Monday thru Friday, with some weekends and holiday work required
  • You are committed to meeting and exceeding industry standards in care and welfare of our animals
  • You are able to tolerate a barn environment, which may include animal dander, manure, dust, blood, odors and frequently noisy conditions
