A little about the business: IAS is a full service farm cooperative offering a complete line of supplies and services to meet all farm needs. They provide products and services to over 5,000 members in the grain, agronomy, feed, energy, and building supply markets. They are looking for an Agronomy Sales Advisor to join their team in the Eastern Iowa area.
What you would be doing: As the Agronomy Sales Advisor, your primary objective would be to increase volume sales and margin growth by actively selling products and services for the benefit of IAS and its member owners. Some of your responsibilities would include promoting the sales of all IAS products and programs, increasing unit sales, gross margins, and market share, providing necessary information to current and prospective customers, and communicating regularly with location team members.
Qualifications: Must possess sufficient knowledge of crop production science, computer skills, display a high level of imitative, have the ability to communicate info and ideas effectively, and have a post-secondary degree or equivalent with education and experience.
A little about the business: Pecan Grove is a leading pecan grower operating various farms totaling 9,000 acres across Texas. They pride themselves on their state of the art agribusiness management as they strive to be an industry leader catering to customers across the globe. They are looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their team in Texas, and relocation is provided.
What you would be doing: As the COO, you would build and operate an efficient, multi-farm agricultural platform capable of supporting fast growth. Some of your responsibilities would include defining, executing, and continuously improving on yield management processes, designing, launching, and maintaining operating systems, implementing and operating systems that promote cost excellence in all aspects of the operation, and communicating on an ongoing basis with the CEO.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, agronomy, plant pathology, crop & soil sciences, agribusiness, or related field, master’s degree preferred, minimum ten years’ experience of full season management, proven experience managing agricultural businesses with multiple separate locations, and demonstrated ability to manage administrative and record keeping tasks.
A little about the business: Blue Farms is a family owned and operated grain operation with over 4,500 acres of corn and soybeans. Their soybeans are raised for seed and both crops are stored on site. They are looking for an all-around Farm Operator to join their team in Iowa.
What you would be doing: As the Farm Operator, you would assist in both the grain storages and farming operations. Some of your responsibilities would include hauling grain with tractors and wagons, dumping grain at bin sites, cleaning out bins when grain goes to market, washing and detailing machinery and trucks, and running the field cultivator.
Qualifications: Must be comfortable operating heavy equipment, have mechanical knowledge, and willing to work extended hours during peak season.
A little about the business: JB Pearl Sales and Service, a part of United Suppliers, is an agribusiness leader in Northeast Kansas priding itself on serving their customer with high priority. They are currently seeking a Precision Agriculture Specialist to join their team in Topeka, Kansas.
What you would be doing: As the Precision Ag Specialist, you would be accountable for the continued development, management, and marketing of their precision agriculture sales and services. Some of your responsibilities would include continuing to develop and manage existing precision agriculture program, developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies, managing internal technology initiatives, and assisting sales/agronomists with prevision farming grower meetings and sales calls.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in a related field with 3-5 years of agriculture or precision ag experience, understanding of crop conditions, soil conditions, and soil test recommendations, computer skills, communication skills, and mathematical skills.
A little about the business: Monsanto is a sustainable agriculture company. They deliver agricultural products that support farmers all around the world. They strive to make their products available to farmers throughout the world by broadly licensing their seed and trait technologies to other companies. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in St. Louis, Missouri.
What you would be doing: As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you would work on multi-disciplinary engineering teams and have a significant hands-on role in the design, development, assembly, and documentation of these systems. Some of your responsibilities would include researching existing methods, proposing new approaches that add value, developing and implementing test protocols, and participating in project proposal development estimating resources.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 10 years professional work experience or a master’s degree and 5 years professional work experience, strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent, familiarity with automated instrumentation/equipment for production environments, significant experience with prototyping methods and test fixtures, and experience with validation methods/tools.
