A little about the farm: KTM Farm is a family-owned and operated farm located in the Red River Valley of North Dakota. They are committed to producing quality products such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and sugar beets. They keep up with recent technology, equipment, and use the most optimal farming practices that will enhance productivity and preservation of the land. They are looking for a Farm Supervisor to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Farm Supervisor, you would report to the owner and lead farm operations for allocated crops. Some of your responsibilities would include coordinating with the owner on operational tasks, labor management, crop management, and planning, leading day-to-day operations, leading maintenance projects, managing a field crew for a given crop, and training, motivating, and coaching employees on their performance.
Qualifications: Agriculture related degree or equivalent farm management experience of 3+ years, mechanical ability to maintain and operate equipment, and a valid driver’s license. CDL Class A preferred.
A little about the farm: Kitchen Farms, located in Elmira, Michigan, has been growing, bagging, and shipping premium table stock potatoes since 1910. They are a family-owned and operated farm business that operated a top-notched organization. They are looking for both part-time and full-time employees to join their team in the potato sorting/packing facility.
What you would be doing: As a Potato Plant Production Worker, you will work standing next to the packing line where you would perform general labor work, such as cutting seed or sorting potatoes.
Qualifications: No prior farming or production background required. They are looking for individuals who pride themselves on doing a great job.
A little about the business: Knutson Irrigation is a Valley Irrigation performance plus dealer that provides sales, service, parts, and installation of center pivots to their farm customers. They are located in Yukon, Oklahoma, which is just outside of Oklahoma City. They are looking for an Inside Salesperson to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Inside Salesperson, you will be the go-to resource for customers on technical knowledge, problem-solving, and service ideas for their walk-in, over-the-phone, and dealer-network customers. Some of your responsibilities would include maintaining current product knowledge to communicate with farm growers and understand their new and used parts and equipment needs, partnering with new customers to ensure most efficient, cost-effective solutions, working with the service and sales departments on a daily basis, and participating in strategic marketing and business development activities.
Qualifications: Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for agriculture and strong mechanical knowledge, love working with a team, and pride yourself on working hard.
A little about the business: Green Valley Irrigation is a family-owned Valley irrigation dealership based in Atkinson, Nebraska. They work hands-on with equipment and focus on providing outstanding customer service. They are looking for a Senior Service Technician to for their Atkinson location that would transition to their O’Neill location, about twenty minutes away from Atkinson.
What you would be doing: As the Senior Service Technician, some of your responsibilities would include troubleshooting, diagnosing, conducting mechanical repairs, and installing parts on center pivots, linear, corner irrigation systems, and well pump systems, working directly with farm growers in order to communicate repairs made and to share available products, and working on mechanical and electrical components.
Qualifications: 5+ years’ mechanic and electrical experience, a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ability to work year round, and ability to communicate clearly with customers in agriculture, management, and other employees.
A little about the business: Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company. They are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar grown and harvested in the United States. They are looking for an Ag Research Scientist to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Ag Research Scientist, you would apply your knowledge of agricultural engineering technology and biological sciences to agricultural problems in sugarcane related with irrigation, drainage, farm machinery, geographical information systems and automation of agricultural processes. Some of your responsibilities would include evaluating, analyzing, and proposing research projects, developing and implementing irrigation/drainage models for sugarcane and rice, and support in planning and evaluation of construction/improvements of irrigation and drainage systems.
Qualifications: Minimum of two years of previous experience in agricultural research, proven aptitude in irrigation/drainage, machinery operation, maintenance repair, systems irrigation, precision agriculture, and GIS, and MS degree of PhD degree in agricultural engineering or Mechanical Engineering with agriculture experience.
