A little about the business: Datepac, LLC is the largest Medjool Date packing facility in the United States, located in Yuma, Arizona. Datepac is a grower-owned cooperative that packages and ships medjool dates year-round. They are looking for a controller to join their team.

What you would be doing: As the controller, you would lead the accounting process and compliance and financial planning and analysis. Some of your responsibilities would include establishing financial conditions, accomplishing department objectives, accomplishing accounting requirements, and meeting finance operational standards.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting, MBA, or CPA is desirable, 5+ years of accounting experience, 2+ years of cost accounting experience, and excellent leadership skills.

Mechanic for Kitchen Farms

A little about the farm: Kitchen Farms, located in Elmira, Michigan, has been growing, bagging, and shipping premium table stock potatoes since 1910. They are a family owned and operated farm business. They are looking for a mechanic to join their team.

What you would be doing: As the mechanic, you would work in an organized shop performing maintenance and repairs on farm equipment, tractor-trailers, forklifts, and facilities. Some of your responsibilities would include troubleshooting and repairing problems, maintaining accurate and detailed maintenance records, working with management on parts to be ordered, and maintaining an organized and clean work environment.

Qualifications: 2+ years maintaining diesel trucks, farm equipment, or related equipment, ability to work well with a team, valid driver’s license, and ability to work longer hours during peak seasons.

Aerial Application Ground Crew for Agri-Tech Aviation

A little about the business: Agri-Tech Aviation is a third generation, family owned and operated aerial application business that has been operating for 70 years. They offer aerial crop protection services throughout Central and Southern Iowa. They are looking for two full time seasonal people to join their ground crew team. The ground crew position is a great internship opportunity and seasonal job for college ag students.

What you would be doing: As part of the ground crew team, you would help with aerial top dressing dry fertilizer, liquid applications of fungicides and insecticides in corn and soybeans, and aerial seeding of cover crops.

Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age, able to obtain a Class A CDL with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements, and a chemical handlers or applicators license with the state (they will assist in acquiring).

Precision Ag Sales Representative for Agriculture Partners

A little about the business: Agriculture Partners offers personalized ag services to local growers including precision ag equipment sales and service, soil zone management, smart soil sampling technology, variable rate recommendations, data management, plant and tissue testing, and ATV mapping. They are looking for a precision ag sales representative to join their team in Hillsboro, Illinois.

What you would be doing: As the precision ag sales representative, you would be responsible for sales, customer service, equipment operation, and reporting weekly to management.

Qualifications: Experience or background in farming, agricultural services, agronomy, or related experience, two or four year college degree in Ag Technology, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agriculture, or related fields preferred, and the ability to work extended hours during peak season.

Western Regional Manager for AgSense

A little about the business: AgSense was founded in 2003 and strives to deliver cutting edge remote management solutions to the agriculture industry. They provide remote irrigation monitoring and control, weather monitoring, soil moisture tracking, grain bin temperature monitoring, and precision irrigation technology. They are looking for a regional manager to join their team in Boise, Idaho.

What you would be doing: As the regional manager, you would be based from a home office and work closely with their irrigation dealer network across the Northwest as their go-to resource, assisting in closing deals, providing training, troubleshooting, delivering grower events, and being the technical guru. Your territory would cover the states of MT, WY, UT, AZ, ID, NV, CA, OR, and WA, plus AB and BC in Canada.

Qualifications: 2+ years technical sales experience in the agriculture industry, comfortable working with a regional territory and enjoy the travel and working with both dealers and growers, have a technical understanding of electronics and hydraulics, two years post-high school education, and an agriculture background.
