A little about the business: Lawrence Customer Services is a diversified family-owned farm and custom application operation located in Knox, Indiana. They grow quality corn, soybeans, peppermint, and seed corn. They also provide custom harvesting. They are looking for a sprayer applicator to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the sprayer applicator, you would be responsible for identifying crop issues in the field while spraying, performing daily maintenance checks prior to starting, tracking field data and conditions, applying inputs onto fields, and assisting with operating irrigation equipment.
Qualifications: 3-5 years relatable farm equipment experience, valid driver’s license, and a Commercial Applicators License or the ability to obtain one within the first month of hire.
A little about the farm: Chaffee Farms is a dairy and cash crop farm located in Barker, New York. They are currently looking for someone to assist their feed department.
What you would be doing: As the feed department assistant, you would be responsible for assisting the feed manager in the daily feeding of Dry cows and heifers using late model equipment. Some of your duties would include operation of a skidsteer loader to clean mangers, recording weighbacks of leftover feed, and daily maintenance of feeding area and equipment.
A little about the business: Crop Production Services (CPS) is one of the largest farm and market retailers in the United States. They are the most effective and efficient supply chain in the United States for rapid development of seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products. They are looking for a Dyna-Gro agronomy services manager to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Dyna-Gro agronomy services manager, you would report to the agronomy director. You would be responsible for managing, training and providing agronomy support for the Dyna-Gro Agronomists and CPS Divisions. Some of your duties would include evaluating products and identifying their needs, building and strengthening relationships, communicating with CPS Division, regional managers, and the seed agronomists, keeping the territory staff informed of Dyna-Gro news and goals, and managing Dyna-Gro agronomist territory sizes.
Qualifications: BS or MS in agronomy, soils, ag business, or other ag-related degree, 10+ years of experience in ag industry, must be a certified crop advisor or professional agronomist or have the ability to become certified, and experience developing agronomy plans.
A little about the business: Adell Cooperative, located in Adell, Wisconsin, is a locally owned agriculture retailer. They are looking for an intern to work alongside their agronomist.
What you would be doing: As the crop scout/sales intern, you would assist the agronomist in their daily activities. Some of your duties would include crop staging, soil sampling, pesticide recommendations, tissue sampling, sales calls, and promotion of products/services.
Qualifications: Must currently be a student pursuing an agriculture-related degree, computer skills, communication skills, and some agriculture background or experience is preferred.
A little about the business: The Maschhoffs is the largest family-owned hog production in North America. They are seeking a farm manager to oversee site operations in the Oxford, Nebraska region.
What you would be doing: As the farm manager, some of your responsibilities would include managing the full profit and loss and a multi-million dollar asset base, developing leadership and technical skills of a team, participating in the development of annual operating goals, implementing individual pig care practices, and overseeing recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and development of new team members.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in animal science, agriculture, or related field preferred, five years management experience, knowledge of livestock/swine management, ability to monitor and develop subordinates, and clear verbal and written communication skills.
