What you would be doing: 

  • Responsible for maintaining current product knowledge on all new and used John Deere agricultural equipment commonly used in area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for maintaining current product knowledge on common competitive brands of equipment used in area of responsibility.
  • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and have the ability to appraise and evaluate effectively for proper valuation of trades.
  • Responsible for developing sales plans and forecasts for assigned customers and maintaining sales management information in customer CRM software.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of agronomy and common agricultural planting, tillage and harvesting techniques utilized in the area and able to utilize this knowledge to make recommendations and suggestions to improve customer’s operation.
  • Fundamental understanding of all facets of precision agriculture practices as it relates to overall customer relationship, management and sales of equipment and services.

Agronomist for Walther Farms

A little about the business: Walther Farms is a 4th generation family-owned business headquartered in Southwestern Michigan. Beginning in the 1940’s, the company expanded from a few vegetable acres to what is now 20,000 acres of commercial and seed potatoes grown throughout the United States for the potato chip and fresh table markets.

What you would be doing: 

  • Select and budget crop inputs for the farm. Monitors chemical inventories, orders products, and coordinates with custom applicators.
  • Monitors quality control and makes recommendations for seed handling and cutting, planting and growing season, harvest, storage, and tillage.
  • Inspect fields frequently and provide recommendations to control weeds, insects, and diseases.
  • Irrigation scheduling
  • Data collection of petioles, stem counts, seed cutter performance and planter performance and makes recommendations based on data collection. Assists with assessment of yield and quality of sugars, size profiles and defects.


  • Minimum 2 years College Education
  • Extensive knowledge in plant and soil science
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license

What you would be doing: 

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with customers, collaborators, vendors, co-workers and management.
  • Answer telephones w/in 2-rings and accurately transfers to appropriate team member, providing sufficient background information.
  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: copying, faxing, mailing, scanning for the benefit of all BWe team members as time allows
  • Package and prepare for shipping through logistics, all outgoing office UPS/Fed Ex packages.
  • Monitor and purchase office, business (letterhead, business cards) and kitchen supplies
  • Setup and coordinate meetings and conferences as needed.


  • Bachelors degree preferred, Associates Degree with experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 1 year administrative/clerical training or experience desired
  • Proficient in MS Office products Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Farm Hand – Operator for Sherping Farms

What you would be doing: 

  • Leading a team of Farm Operators and overseeing planting and harvest operations.
  • Operating farm equipment such as a sprayer.
  • Precisely blending and applying fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or insecticides based on prescribed rates and label recommendations.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on the sprayer and ensure nozzles, hoses, etc. are working properly.
  • Keeping equipment and facilities in good order.
  • Maintaining spray logs and weather records.
  • Managing chemical inventory.


  • Experience working in agriculture and operating farm equipment, spray application
  • Proven ability to lead and work with a team.
