Agronomy Precision Ag Data Analyst for Peterson Farms

A little about the business: Peterson Farms is a growing family operation located in Central Kentucky which manages over 17,000 acres and produces various agricultural products.  The company is structured and positioned for successful growth today and in the future.

What you would be doing: 

  • Manage GIS data collection tools and software
  • Assist with procurement of data collection tools
  • Training of Agronomy and Operations Teams on use of data collection tools.
  • Ensure accurate recording and documentation of GIS records
  • Focus on timely importation and evaluation of GIS data for use by Chief Agronomist and Management Team for timely decision making.
  • Assist Chief Agronomist with administrative needs.

Qualifications: 

  • 4-year college degree Ag Systems Technology, Precision Ag, Agronomy, Crop and Soil Sciences, or related field.
  • Precision Ag, scouting, farming, agricultural services, or related experience preferred but not required.
  • Proven strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to research, analyze, and present data to management in a clear, organized manner.

Independent Seed Sales Representative for Stine Seed

What you would be doing: 

  • Serve as primary ambassador of the Stine brand within the assigned territory 
  • Develop and maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Stine seed products and services applicable to the assigned territory 
  • Proactively seek new and profitable grower accounts to drive business growth; continually develop relationships within your community  
  • Understand and implement marketing initiatives while driving key products and services in key target markets   
  • Communicate and implement Stine’s sales programs and policies within the assigned territory in order to meet sales goals for the district  
  • Work in conjunction with the Stine Regional Sales Agronomist to provide a high level of sales support within the assigned territory 
  • Develop and enhance relationships with customers and potential customers, either personally or through a designated seller 

Qualifications: 

  • Three or more years of sales experience; preferably in agriculture, agronomy, seed and/or ag equipment   
  • Prior success in relationship sales with a longer sales cycle  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proven sales techniques, as well as excellent negotiating skills and the ability to overcome obstacles.  
  • Self-starter who can develop daily and weekly goals with little direction  
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with growers by understanding their needs and values and achieve desired results

Farm Hand / Ranch Hand / Equipment Operator for Kleeman Ranch

Qualifications: 

  • BS or BA in or business management or equivalent work experience (five to ten years) in the food processing industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good mathematical background to be able to perform calculations on yield, productivity, reports, etc.
  • Able to evaluate leads and employees fairly and objectively; strong human resource skills.
  • Growth potential to assume more responsibility.

What you would be doing: 

  • Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Creates annual Service Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
  • Develops and executes Service Department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals
  • Coordinates customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events
  • Submits all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
  • Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge
  • Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
  • Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position

Qualifications: 

  • Have 3+ years in service, repair, and maintenance of agriculture, farm, diesel, construction and/or heavy equipment with prior management experience
  • Are a strong communicator that enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Enjoy a role working directly with customers and can work calmly under the pressure of the busy season
  • Have ability to work extended hours and weekends
