A little about the business:  Hemdale Greenhouses is a commercial transplant greenhouse operation. We produce high quality vegetable plug plants for ourselves and other producers in New York state.

What you would be doing:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management for all greenhouse operations & staff
  • Coordinate production and delivery schedules for all customers
  • Proactively communicate with customers: goals, expectations, & sales each year
  • Foster & encourage a success oriented and accountable work environment for all greenhouse staff.
  • Work with management to ensure greenhouse operations meet or exceed quality standards

Qualifications: 

  • Require excellent command of the following: leadership, problem-solving, self-motivation, organizational skills, and TEAMWORK
  • Ability to lead a positive work environment while training & developing all staff members
  • Strong communicator one-on-one and in a group setting
  • Position requires standing & walking for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, must be insurable, and maintain a valid driver’s license

Communications Specialist for Farm Credit Council

A little about the business: The Farm Credit Council is the national trade association representing Farm Credit System institutions before Congress, the Executive Branch and others. The Council provides the mechanism for member grassroots involvement in the development of positions and policies with respect to federal legislation and government actions that impact Farm Credit.

What you would be doing: 

  • Draft, design, edit and publish internal- and external-facing content, particularly as it relates to strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and processing of grant payments.
  • Solicit, review and evaluate proposals.
  • Correspond with stakeholders.
  • Manage deadlines and implementation of sponsorship benefits.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing and communications
  • Knowledge of the Congress, the administration and the political process preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills required

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Ag related background/training and/or equivalent background.

  • Maintain a current DOT physical.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ag background preferred.

Quality Control Lead for Foster Farms

  • This position has the authority to hold product that does not conform to customer agreements, finished product specifications, or legal requirements and is also authorized to make decision regarding product disposition including release.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in food processing; 
  • knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs and SSOPs preferred             
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)             
  • Must be detail oriented and proficient in mathematics.
