Head Grower for Kentucky Fresh Harvest

A little about the business: Welcome to Kentucky Fresh Harvest – a high-technology greenhouse project located in Stanford, KY. We’re a year-round, hydroponic vegetable production operation with a focus on niche vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes and bell peppers. We will have the capacity to produce 3-4M lbs of cherry tomatoes every year with our high technology systems.

What you would be doing: 

  • Oversee daily operations of the facility, including production, quality control, planning, plant performance reporting, labor management, facility maintenance, and balancing inputs, throughput, and demand.
  • Maximize revenue by managing operating expenses and optimizing systems.
  • Prepare budget and monitor financial statements.
  • Support programs to maintain safe working conditions and food safety compliance.
  • Develop growing schedule and forecast yield targets.
  • Work with Director of Production and IPM and distribution partners to develop and execute produce growth strategies.

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with weigh humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present.
  • Ability to exert up to 15 – 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds of force constantly on order to lift and move product.
  • Ability to be on feet while performing the job responsibilities. Ability to grasps, lift product, climb on step stool or/and ladder may be required.
  • A degree in horticulture, plant science, controlled environment agriculture (CEA) or agriculture or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in horticulture or agriculture is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in horticulture, particularly in vining crops in greenhouses.
  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience. Previous experience in greenhouse management is mandatory.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal laws concerning employment to include, but not limited to: I-9 information, EEOC, Civil Rights and ADA.

Transport Driver for Central Valley Ag (CVA)

A little about the business: Central Valley Ag (CVA) is a member-owned farmers cooperative located in central and northeastern Nebraska. Established in 2003, CVA has 365 employees across our trade area that provides agronomy, grain, and feed services to over 10,000 farmers and ranchers.

What you would be doing: 

  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions, and routes
  • Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods

Qualifications: 

  • This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the related field

Farm Manager – Herd Manager for Skyglo Farms

A little about the business: Skyglo Farms is a family owned and operated Dairy Farm located 20 miles south east of Eau Claire, WI.  Along with our dairy we have about 440 acres of corn and alfalfa. What you would be doing: 

  • Working closely with owners and employees on daily dairy operation.
  • Manage all ages of cattle from newborn calves through lactating cows.
  • Assist in maternity and hospital pens and monitor youngstock area.
  • Oversee general herd health (foot trimming, vet, milking issues).
  • Additional field work as necessary with harvest and mixing feed for dairy.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience with livestock / dairy herd as a herdsman, herd manager or other relevant farm or dairy experience.
  • Experience operating farm and/or dairy equipment.
  • A good work ethic, dependability, and honesty.
  • A great personality with a drive to work, ability to learn, and get things done.
  • Strong people skills and ability to work well with a team.

Mechanic – Shop Manager for Godfrey Farms

A little about the business: Welcome to Godfrey Farms located in south central Michigan! We’re a diversified, family-owned and operated farm growing corn, soybeans, and alfalfa on about 3,000 acres. Qualifications: 

  • Have mechanical experience in either heavy equipment, ag equipment, diesel, military, construction or relatable work.
  • Are dependable, have a good attitude, and work in an efficient manner.

  • Have successfully been in sales leadership roles as a Regional Manager, VP Sales, Director-level, General Manager or similar level.
  • Have experience in project management, vendor management and working closely with cross-functional teams/projects
